CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK ANNOUNCES NEW ADDITIONS TEGAN AND SARA, SKEPTA, DILLY DALLY, HOLY HOLY W/ TONY VISCONTI, NO JOY AND MORE

Canadian Music Week (CMW) is thrilled to announce additional headliners at this year’s festival including Canadian indie-pop duo Tegan and Sara, former Fader cover star Skepta, Toronto’s Dilly Dally who Rolling Stone named artists you need to know, Montreal shoe-gaze outfit No Joy, and David Bowie’s longtime producer Tony Visconti, will lead his band Holy Holy. These artists join an already stellar lineup, featuring Eagles of Death Metal, The Strumbellas, Wintersleep, NAO, Ho9909 and more.

Tegan and Sara return to CMW as part of the iHeartRadio Festival, Friday, May 6th, at The Sheraton Centre Hotel. With over 1 million albums sold, 7 Gold certifications, 1 Double Platinum certification, 3 Juno Awards, 2 Polaris Prize nominations, and a Grammy nomination, Tegan and Sara’s career has deftly balanced critical acclaim with an ever-increasing foothold in the mainstream. The genre-bending duo, are preparing to release their much-anticipated 8th studio album on Warner Bros. Records later this year. Additional acts to perform at the iHeartRadio fest include X Ambassadors, Coleman Hell and Jocelyn Alice.

Canadian Music Week presents The Indies with Indie88 May 4th at Phoenix Concert Theatre, featuring performances by The Strumbellas and Wintersleep. Now in its 16th year, the Indie Awards are one of Canada’s premier and most anticipated shows honouring the best in independent music.

15th annual Independent Music Awards presented by Sirius XM on May 9th, 2015

On Saturday May 9th, 2015 Canadian Music Week will host the 15th annual independent music awards. A night of award highlights, accomplishments and a phenomenal concert featuring the talents of  Billy Talent, Alvvays, The Glorious Sons, Broncho, Miracles.

Awards will be handed out Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 8:00pm at The Grand Ballroom – Sheraton Centre in Toronto.  Tickets for the event can be purchased at www.ticketweb.ca and www.cmw.net/music.

FIRST MUSIC CONTACT AND CULTURE IRELAND PRESENT THE MUSIC FROM IRELAND SHOWCASE AT CMW 2015 – FEATURING BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT FINALIST RYAN O’SHAUGHNESSY, MAUD IN CAHOOTS AND MORE

First Music Contact and Culture Ireland are pleased to present Music From Ireland at Canadian Music Week 2015, an initiative bringing Ireland’s finest exports to showcase globally. Music From Ireland will showcase at this year’s CMW in Toronto at The Rivoli on Thursday, May 7th, featuring performances from Ryan O’Shaughnessy, Maud In Cahoots, Hare Squead, and more. With past festival showcase lineups including Hozier, James Vincent McMorrow, Kid Karate and WOUNDS, Music from Ireland’s official CMW showcase is sure to impress. “After the success of showcases at festivals around the world, we’re excited to bring tomorrow’s Irish stars to Canada,” says First Music Contact CEO Angela Dorgan.

All festival wristbands will be accepted for entrance to the showcase, and individual tickets are available for purchase here.

Ryan O’Shaughnessy
Singer-songwriter Ryan O’Shaughnessy earned a name for himself at only 19 years old, when he placed in Britain’s Got Talent 2012 top 5 finalists. He has since topped the Irish music charts with his debut self-titled EP, and has left his thousands of fans in anticipation for his upcoming full length album.

Acrobat
Acrobat is a Dublin-based band formed in 2013 by singer and guitarist Mark Healy and bass player Naoise Morzadec. Since then, they have released two critically acclaimed EPs and have been named a band to watch by The Irish Times.

FANGCLUB are a garage/punk/rock band who form in Dublin in 2013. They released their debut EP Alkali in 2014 and played several Irish summer festivals, which lead to a 2015 headline tour across the country.

Maud In Cahoots
Dublin sisters Maud and Zoe Reardon and Stephen Markham form the alternative pop act, Maud In Cahoots. Their wild live concept performances have built a buzz for the band, and have earned them spots at top festivals around the world including South By South West and Electric Picnic.
