Album Review of Coda and Jacket debut EP from Matt Webb

Matt Webb is known for his work in Vancouver’s own, Marianas Trench who has made waves over the past two years with two back to back tours across Canada. Matt released his second solo EP entitled Right Direction on February 4th, 2014.

For those of you who are maybe not familiar with his solo work, the following is a good account of what you have missed out on thus far.

Showing a passion for not only guitar, 604 Records signed singer/ songwriter Matt Webb’s strengths debuted in his 2011 release of a seven song EP, Coda and Jacket.  With an overall pop sound Matt breaks away from expectations with this collection of originals that travel a wide emotional range. Touching on love, loss and his passion for performing music, Coda and Jacket gives us the listener a glimpse into Webb’s psyche. Pop driven the songs are fairly upbeat and get your toes tapping. Currently awaiting the arrival of his second EP in the mail, there is a bubble of anticipation, to see where the extensive touring and experience with Marianas Trench has taken his inspiration and music.
